That's the first task in this long quest for union. The certificate of capacity to marry (CCM) is a mandatory document for any citizen wishing to marry a person of Moroccan nationality. How to get it?
- First, you must make an appointment Consulate General of France in which your future spouse. It was for Mounia Fes and me. The first obstacle arises in you because of delays in obtaining appointments are relatively long. For my part, I asked my date March 7, 2008 and the first available date was July 24 which is four and a half months later.
- The appointment: You must first complete a document to retrieve from the website of your consulate. This document will provide the day of your interview (see below).

the day of the interview itself, c is mostly waiting and stress before the appointment that is being felt because we give you your appointment for 8:30 in the morning (at the opening of the consulate), but you spend only 2 to 3 hours later after a very long wait (it speaks well of French rule there). In addition, before returning to the consulate, you'll probably stop by people asking you to accompany them. In reality, it is only dishonest people who intend to complete the document named above to your site in exchange for some money. Nice you might say. Mounia for me and we were offered this service for 100 dirhams, or about 10 €! One board, fill your paper yourself first.
NB: The document on the particulars may vary, claiming you more complete information. Do not worry, we will provide you the right document at the entrance of the consulate and you can put part of your benefit to wait.
After our long wait, we finally turn to the person in charge of our case. We arrived at a counter where someone was waiting for us. Do not rely on the confidentiality of your information as a second person dealing with another couple next to us. We begin by asking ourselves questions about the circumstances of our meeting (date, place, context) and then individually, we are asked more details about our personal situation. For me the person asked me if I was already out with Mounia and which of us had decided the marriage. She then warned Mounia the fact that I was a student without calling into question our feelings. We were very surprised by this conversation because we were warned that questions would be more sophisticated than that. Examples of questions that you may encounter:
- Name of parents and siblings and their date of birth
- Height, weight, shoe size, waist spouse
- Tastes Culinary spouse, passions, hobbies etc. ...
- Phone number (by heart) the spouse
- Your Spouse Has family in France?
- Issuance of document: In theory, the average time is 8 weeks knowing that you can either come to withdraw from the consulate or receive from you by mail. For my part, I have received after 8 weeks and 2 days of waiting. Nevertheless, the period may be longer in some cases. This delay is due to the fact that the file is sent to the town hall of your residence in France from which the banns are published (display for ten days at the entrance your local authority) and then return the file to the consulate before final submission of the CCM.

Here is a copy of the certificate of publication of banns in the town hall. This document is not mandatory but it reflects the way your case in the hands of the civil service.

Here sesame as expected. In all, between the demand for appointments and receiving the document, it took six months and a half.
